EMERY MINNARD, M.D.

Evologics Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Emery Minnard serves as Evologics Chief Medical Officer. A native of Lafayette, LA, Dr. Minnard earned his undergraduate degree at Xavier University in New Orleans before being accepted to Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. After completing his surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Dr. Minnard received his surgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. During his residency he completed two years of cancer research at the University of Pennsylvania where he authored several papers in cell biology and signal transduction.


Dr. Minnard returned to Louisiana as an assistant professor of surgery at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport. There, he became very active in the state’s preventative and awareness initiatives in early detection and treatment with the aid of the American Cancer Society. After a brief period at Louisiana State University Medical Center, New Orleans, he began his private practice on the West Bank of New Orleans at West Jefferson Medical Center and Ochsner Medical Center West Bank Campus.


Dr. Minnard currently practices surgical oncology and general surgery at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank where he’s performed thousands of complex operations on cancer patients specifically related to breast, lung, colon and hepatobiliary tumors.

He has served as Chief of Surgery and now Chief of Staff at Ochsner Westbank. He also trains Tulane surgical residents and medical students from University of Queensland Medical School as a surgery instructor.

BRIAN LADNER, M.D.

Evologics Orthopedic Surgeon Director/Advisor

Dr. Brian Ladner serves as Evologics Orthopedic Surgeon Director. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Mississippi State University in 2001 and his Doctor of Medicine in 2005 from the University of Mississippi Medical School. In 2010, Dr. Ladner completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He then completed a fellowship in trauma and adult reconstruction in the Harvard Orthopedic Department in Boston in 2011. Dr. Ladner practiced in Hammond, LA for eight years before joining the team at Ochsner.
His surgical interests include complex fracture care, joint replacement, and joint replacement revisions.

David E. Rivadeneira, MD, MBA, FACS, FASCRS

Evologics Director of Colorectal Surgery

David E. Rivadeneira, MD, MBA, FACS, FASCRS serves as Evologics Director of Colorectal surgery and is a board certified general surgeon and colon and rectal surgeon who has trained at world-renowned institutions, including New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, and the Lahey Clinic in Massachusetts.Known for his advanced skills in minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Rivadeneira has a major interest in laparoscopic and other minimally invasive procedures for the treatment of colon and rectal diseases, including cancer. He is recognized as a national leader in laparoscopic colon surgery, and has extensive experience teaching laparoscopic colon surgery to surgeons throughout the United States and abroad.
Dr. Rivadeneira uses leading-edge technology, including the da Vinci robot, to provide state-of-the-art treatments to benefit patients. He is skilled at single-incision laparoscopic procedures, which offer patients the special benefits of minimally invasive surgery.His expertise encompasses the management of colon, rectal and anal cancer, diverticulitis, familial polyposis, chronic ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, ileoanal reservoir (J-pouch), colon polyps, incontinence, prolapse, anorectal abscess, fistulas, fissures and hemorrhoids. Dr. Rivadeneira also performs colonoscopy.Board certified in both colon and rectal surgery and general surgery, Dr. Rivadeneira received his Medical Degree from Howard University College of Medicine in 1995. For his outstanding performance as a medical student he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and selected for inclusion in Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities.Dr. Rivadeneira completed his residency in general surgery at Weill Medical College of Cornell University, training at both New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Rivadeneira also spent two years in a National Institute of Health (NIH) sponsor fellowship in cancer/oncology research at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He then went on to complete his fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery at the Lahey Clinic in 2003.Dr. Rivadeneira is a member of the surgical faculty at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine at Hofstra University, where he is professor of surgery. For several years, he was a member of the surgical faculty of Stony Brook University, where he attained the position of associate professor of surgery.Currently, Dr. Rivadeneira serves as Physician-in-Chief, Clinical Strategic Initiatives at Eastern Region Northwell Health; Director of the Northwell Health Cancer Institute at Huntington and Professor of Surgery at the Donald & Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
